I started to do a reread of Oredigger's Day 1 posts.
I'm going to apologise up front if I'm teaching my grandmother to suck eggs (as the saying goes). I want to make sure in these posts that we're all on the same page.
509. Here OD is defending Nanook against accusations of scumminess that were based on Nanook's slip. This was, note, before Nanook claimed. I don't think it's conclusive that Nanook and Oredigger are the same side, but it's a single pointer that they might be. Something to keep in mind in the future. They're both relatively new and might fall prey to the instinct to defend each other.
We can rule out a pair of freemasons; at this point none of the Masons knew each other. Their handshake is a Day power. Note that it's possible some Masons may have met since Dusk, as they get their results when Dusk falls.
540. Here he attacks Pollux Oil. This is the post that caught my eye, because he misrepresents what PO says.
PO on the mass roleclaim :
Oredigger's interpretation. PO never said it made the game too easy. (He implied that it might make the game easier, but that's not quite the same as making it too easy.) PO wants to retain the spirit of the game. Oredigger attacks him because, he says, this is just like ignoring a confession and looking for other scum.
That's not at all what PO said, and it really twinged me. If he'd have indulged in selective quoting to make that point, then my vote would have been on him just for that post. As it was, I've been watching him since he said that.
Conclusion. While I'm still unhappy about this I've been unable to put my finger on what else pinged me about Oredigger. At least I have the basic research tool to go back and reread to try and find it again.
I think these are worth keeping up. If you want to compile ones of your own, feel free (only post them at Night, though.)
