It appears that since we are in a Night phase, we can talk. No use of powers, which I suppose is fair enough.
I don't think I've been in a secret group with either of you two before. Let's get plotting.
Me? I'm off to read the rules. I want to get what is known about everyone pat.
And remember folks - don't show more knowledge of the Witches - or the Cabal - than of any other specific grouping. People will be watching for that.
Watch for people who show too much knowledge, of us or the Cabal especially.

We aren't going to have Roosh with us for a while, so is there anything you want to comment on Merestil? I've not been in a mason group before. All I know is we should not form any ties with each other that could expose us. We have several powers...any thoughts on how best to use them?

Just checking in.
I think we should obv. only use the protects on ourselves while we've got 3 of us here.
Investigate whoever you think best.
Please try to not let them kill me before I show up. Guilt trip them or something.... Anyways, I'm gonna head out soon. So I'll be back Monday the 22nd or so.

We'll have a chance to discuss who we should investigate after Nightfall on Night 1, and by then we'll have a bit more data, including reducing the field to 27. So I'm happy leaving these thoughts a while.
I'm in favour of protecting one of us as necessary - it's the sort of decision that is obvious because it's the best thing to do.
Do we want to gather information about the others in a central location to aid us in deciding who's who?

I made a new thread with the players. I can go in and edit as needed to update it.

With 31 players, I think all of the potential roles are in play. Here is my breakdown:
One of each role except Freemason - 5 Witch - 3 Regular Wolf - 4 Vampire - 2 Cabalist - 5
17 town 6 wolf 3 undead 5 cabal
Last game, I was the detective and my secret powers were to be able to find out how many wolves, vampires, or zombies there were at any given point in the game. The first thing I did was find out how many wolves there were. I'm sure the secret powers are changed up a bit to keep them secret, but I'm hoping there is someone with this power because it was most helpful last time.

Thumbs up.
One thing I thought of is that we might benefit from compiling dossiers on players. Set a thread up for a player who posts something dodgy, discuss their role specifically and so on.
Pleo's OK with it.
Since it would be discussion we'd need to update only when allowed discussion, which might be a problem. I'd also suggest sticking to the Dope rules about not attacking others.
Another tool in the toolbox there.

The first thing I did was find out how many wolves there were. I'm sure the secret powers are changed up a bit to keep them secret, but I'm hoping there is someone with this power because it was most helpful last time. Last game we had a five-Wolf group, lead by HazelnutCoffee. I don't think we did a very good job. Me included, because at the end of Night One, I told myself to look out for someone suddenly attacking me in Day 3, because that person would be the Detective. And you did. But because of personal stuff, it had gone from my mind. Which brings up a point or two. Last game, players with Day powers got their results at night but could not communicate the results straight away. This game, the roles can use the information at Night - so the Detective will be able to lay breadcrumbs for their Day 2 results in Night 2. Your numbers are a good starting point, but let's keep possible variations in mnd. In particular, keep open to the possibility that there may be seven Wolves, or that the number of Vigilantes equal the number of Vampires. That's a frightener. Five kills Night 1? It won't happen, because Vigs will still be hesitant to take a blind shot and risk having to kill themselves. But still, it's a possible arrangement.

I'm totally open, I just wanted to put down a place to start dissecting from.
As we have role claims, I'll update the player list.

We probably do, especially since we can't claim distractions by other games.
Why am I in three games? Why?
*bh*
I'm going to start the first dossier.

I hate this mass roleclaim idea. I might be forced into a breach of my own principles, and lie, if it goes ahead. The Cabal in particular need to get a handle on our names.
You'll both need to think about possible cover claims.
